Women’s Guide to Shopping Dowtown (Part I)

Starting Point:

East Village:

10:00am ABRACO (86 East 7th Str)
http://abraconyc.com/#home Your morning coffee fix. If you love drip coffee, ice coffee, or any coffee for that matter, you’ll LOVE Abraco, the alchemists of coffee. p.s. Get that Olive Oil cake, have a bite, dip it in your coffee, put it in your purse and save for your shopping schlep. If it’s sunny, just enjoy your coffee outside on the bench, listening to strange conversations, its fascinating. If the weather doesn’t inspire though, just keep on walking…Take a gander at the photos of that infamous cake http://abraconyc.com/#photos
If by any chance you are there around noon go to these shops on 7th street btw 1 and 2nd Ave
  1. Tokyo 7

10:30 – 11:00am BOWERY
walk down to 2nd Ave and 2nd street and walk up to Bowery
1.      John Varvatos (bowery btw 1st and 2nd str)
2.      Blue & Cream (Bowery and 1st Street )
Great gear, on the pricey side but good.

11:30 Think Coffee (1 Bleeker Str, corner of Bowery and Bleeker)http://thinkcoffeenyc.com
You might be in need of another coffee fix, or you’re shopping with a complete twat, who’s just standing next to you, breathing down your neck, moving as you move, looking bored; just send him off to Think Coffee. One must try the Spanish Latte, and they also have grilled cheese on whole wheat toast,

12:00pm BOND STREET
My favourite street to walk down in NYC. Beware of gigantic rats at night. Its cobbled-stone road and has fantastic architecture. Shopping wise one can check out Daryl K, United Nude.

12:00-12:30pm Lafayette Street (north)
Just take a little detour to Screaming Mimis, you will not regret it, I assure you. Just take a right on Lafayette and you’ll be in vintage heaven. Not cheap, but not ridiculously expensive either.
