Congee Bowery; My favourite Chinese joint in the city. Always impresses Chinese food lovers. The menu is extensive and pretty darn authentic, as far as we westerner's Know, anyway. But you know what sets this joint apart from the other good Chinese joints, it's the location. Its on the Bowery (closer to E.Houston than Canal), thus close to Nolita, LES, E.Vill... not in the heart of China Town, where there is Fuck-all to do afterwards, except for going to Apotheke.
Here, I suggest you order yourself some Peking Style Pork Chops (see picture) they are the BOLLOCKS!
Then, after the Chinese food, hop on down to Freemans (two minutes away) for a Freemans Cocktail... ha! me and this bloody cocktail should get a room together.. I know, I know...

Mr. Devour and I will have a trade off; He'll treat me to his favourite slice of pizza (The vodka slice @ La Casa Bella. Doesn't it just make your mouth water looking at it?!) and I, in turn will treat him to my favourite Cocktail, The Freemans...
This is what Mr. Devour has to say about this magical slice...Read on, The dude is funny.

whenever I go to La Casa Bella, I start off my meal with a vodka slice which, honestly, I believe is the best vodka slice in Brooklyn. If it was humanly and socially acceptable to have sex and marry this slice of pizza, I would. And yes, there are about five other pizza shops that make vodka slices, but none can come near the one at La Casa Bella. A thin, crunchy, chewy dough, topped with a creamy, garlicky, tomato vodka sauce, which is then topped off with fresh mozzarella and a mix of basil and parsley with a sesame seed crust can honestly be the key factor in bringing world peace.

WTF happened last night
All right, so Thursdays are the new Fridays, right? So you got to suck it up, go with the flow and forget that you have to go to work tomorrow.
This is how the night started for me…
8:30 Bowery Hotel
NOHO
In a nutshell, The bowery embodies 3 C’s; Cozy, Chic, Cocktails. A simple cocktail list with a great wait staff. I had 3 Bees Knees, which was very nicely done, smooth, not to sweet not too bitter.
A word of warning though, there is no music. Its a place to enjoy the cozy ambiance and dialogue. I, surprisingly, hadn't noticed that there was no music playing Probably, due to the fact that I was on a first date and was just chattering away. But, had I gone with a couple of friends, I would be wandering wtf happened to the music. So, to sum up, go on a date here.
11:00 Norwood Club
CHELSEA (241 W 14th St btw 8th and 7th Ave)
Very interesting indeed. My first time here. The concept of the place is intriguing, its like you are partying in someone's amazing townhouse that’s fully equipped with a bar, projector, oversized armchairs AND a roof deck to smoke. The music was all right (too rnb for my liking) but the good rnb, think more Lauryn hill’s ‘That thing’. But after I've gotten a taste of Don Hills music, I’ll never be satisfied again.
12:00 The Jane Hotel
West Village
The same people who have the bowery Hotel have Jane, the decor is similar, but on a much larger scale and more clubby. This place rocks a Disco Ball and stuffed animal heads and they make it work. Its dark and the tunes are good. And of course its a bit of a scene.
1:00 Le Bain
MEPA
Eee, probably the least excited about this place. Crowd is a bit of a mess, and the music is mediocre to gay. So skip it…yes, don't bother.
2:00 Kenmare
NOLITA
Well, the guys that have Don Hills have this place, so the music is AMAZING. I was dancing from Blur ‘Song 2’ too ‘Teenage Wedding’ Kinks, The Who, oh the joy!. Not one Gaga tune. A whole evening of not ONE Gaga tune, or any other mainstream bullshit. I am very grateful.
3:30 Bed
E.Vill
and that's how you do it.
